DataDirect Technologies' Chief Software Architect to Present Techniques for IBM Specialty Engine Exploitation at SHARE Conference

Feb 20, 2008 -- DataDirect Technologies:

WHAT: Technical Presentation DataDirect Technologies (www.datadirect.com), the unparalleled leader in data connectivity and mainframe integration and an operating company of Progress Software Corporation (Nasdaq: PRGS), will review the company's unique approach for leveraging IBM's mainframe specialty engines for integrating mainframe data and application environments with Service- Oriented Architectures (SOA) and composite application development initiatives.

Gregg Willhoit, Chief Software Architect of the DataDirect® Shadow® mainframe integration platform will detail the latest advances in middleware architecture, including the creation of a new hybrid thread type called the Logical Dispatchable Unit (LDU). The presentation will explain how the combination of LDUs and new Work Load Management (WLM) techniques to exploit the zIIP allows organizations to offload significant portions of its mainframe SOAs and data processing to the zIIP's unmeasured, non-speed restricted environment. With this information, users can develop more effective strategies for lowering mainframe TCO and how to integrate mainframe systems into SOAs and business intelligence initiatives.
