Progress Launches First Service Delivery Partners Certification Program in EMEA

Nov 03, 2015

More than a dozen partners from 11 countries will attain certifications for OpenEdge Developer, OpenEdge Administrator and Telerik Certification paths

COPENHAGEN, Denmark--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Progress (NASDAQ: PRGS) today announced its first Service Delivery Partners (SDP) Certification Program in EMEA. The program enables developers and administrators to elevate their skills by leveraging the latest innovations around Progress® OpenEdge®, a leading platform for simplifying and streamlining the development, integration and management of global enterprise business applications for fast time-to-market.

"By providing stellar development solutions, coupled with immersive hands-on trainings, we empower our 1.7 million-strong developer community and more than 2,000 partner organizations with the tools and practical knowledge to build next-generation business applications," said Mark Armstrong, Vice President and Managing Director EMEA at Progress. "Our certification programs not only help developers and administrators expand their vast skill sets; they attain valuable, independent validation of their expertise in implementing Progress tools and technologies."

The Service Delivery Partners (SDP) Certification Program offers two certification paths, designed to serve the needs of developers and administrators who want to build and support enterprise-class solutions: OpenEdge Developer track and OpenEdge Administrator track. In addition, Progress has organized a series of courses as part of the Telerik® Mobile Platform Enablement Certification Program, held in Progress offices in Bracknell, UK and Rotterdam, The Netherlands.

The OpenEdge Developer track is an intensive 5-day online training program, covering the complete set of competencies needed to develop dynamic, business process-enabled applications with the OpenEdge product, from OpenEdge integration to ABL application development and data access. In parallel, specialists seeking to become certified OpenEdge Administrators, must pass an additional 5.5-day online training focused on the OpenEdge database and Progress® AppServer administration. Those participating in the Telerik Mobile Platform Enablement Certification will attain skills and knowledge around Telerik® Platform, NativeScript®, Progress® DataDirect® and Telerik® Analytics.

"The SDP Program is the latest addition to our Partner+ ecosystem. Our SDP partners will play a critical role to deliver Professional Services in EMEA, enabling our partners and customers to bring innovative solutions to market faster and increase their competitive swagger," said Kimberly King, Vice President, Global Partners and Channels, Progress.

Since launch, the certification programs have gained traction with more than 160 SDP employees from eight European countries enrolled in the Service Delivery Partners Certification Program. In addition, 45 partner employees from 11 countries have already earned certificates from the Telerik Mobile Platform Enablement Program.

"We are delighted to receive this recognition from Progress," said Uttam Shah, SBU Head, Technology Services, JKT. "Our partnership strengthens our resolve to alleviate the concerns of Progress users and support them through their digital transformation."
