BEDFORD, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 21, 2008--Progress Software Corporation (NASDAQ: PRGS), a leading provider of application infrastructure software to develop, deploy, integrate and manage business applications, has announced that Progress Software will host a three-part SOA Management Webinar series. The first session, hosted by Dan Foody, vice president of Actional, will be held on April 22, at 11:00am EST and is entitled "The Risks, Strategies and Pay Off: SOA Runtime Governance."

  • When: Tuesday, April 22, 2008 at 11:00am EST
  • Where: Link to Webinar
  • What: Progress's Dan Foody, vice president of Actional products, will cut through all of the confusion surrounding SOA governance to learn the ins-and-outs of the two key aspects of SOA runtime governance, visibility and policy enforcement, and the key challenges and strategies for addressing them.
  • Why: Studies show that Service Orientated Architecture (SOA) is used in more than 50% of new mission-critical applications and business processes and by 2010 this level will increase to 80%. With this rate of proliferation throughout the enterprise and the underlying importance of service reliability to these applications, businesses are now including Web service and SOA management and governance as top priorities.

As vice president of Progress Actional, Dan Foody leverages over 20 years of enterprise software development to span the boundary between business and technology with service-oriented architectures (SOA). Previously serving as CTO for Actional Corp., acquired by Progress in early 2006, Foody's experience with distributed systems technologies including middleware, integration and Web services have provided him with a broad understanding and passion for solving today's critical business issues with innovative technology solutions. Most recently, Foody was the recipient of InfoWorld's 2005 CTO 25 award.
