Hyderabad, August 29, 2014: Progress (NASDAQ: PRGS), a global software company that simplifies the development, deployment, and management of business applications, today announced the launch of its Pacific Incubator program in India, following an announcement earlier this year by the Company’s President and CEO, Philip Pead, that Progress’ India Development Center would support application development projects for startups using the Progress Pacific platform.
The Progress Pacific Incubator program aims to help early stage startups that are building business applications. Startups that are at the prototype stage of an idea can leverage the Progress Pacific and Progress Rollbase® solutions to gain significant productivity benefits and faster time-to-market for their business applications. The Progress Pacific Incubator program will provide work space for each startup and access to the Pacific platform to build their solutions.
Further, Progress engineers will be available to help the startups by lending their domain expertise, mentoring, and providing access to markets – depending on the merit of the startup’s idea.Any startup that builds business or domain solutions can benefit from the Pacific development platform, which is SaaS and Mobile-ready. The Progress Pacific Incubator program will extend to local Universities interested in engaging with the Pacific platform.
The Progress Pacific Incubator program complements and aligns with the Telangana government’s recent announcement around providing support for innovation and entrepreneurship in Hyderabad and supports the government’s efforts to make Hyderabad into the startup capital of India.
