DataDirect Technologies to Speak at QCon London 2009

Data – XML and XQuery:
A Language that can Combine and Transform Data” to an audience of
software developers and architects at QCon London 2009. The conference
will be hosted at
The Queen Elizabeth II Conference Centre in
London, UK
from Wednesday 11 until Friday 13 March.
“QCon is a conference developed by the community for the community,”

with the people in the frontlines of software development.”
Over the years, John de Longa has held many positions at DataDirect
Technologies and currently serves as a solutions architect working with
corporate and Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) customers. His QCon
presentation will explore the use of XML as a medium for interoperation
between systems and for data transformation using the evolving XML query
standard, XQuery. The vast capabilities of XQuery will be discussed and
a number of real-world scenarios will be covered during the discussion.
The presentation is scheduled to take place Thursday, 12 March at 10.45
- 11.45 in the Rutherford Room.
DataDirect Technologies will also take part as a show exhibitor and can
be found at stand #16 on the exhibition floor. In conjunction with their
appearance at QCon, the company will be conducting marketing focus
groups during lunch and after conference hours. Volunteers will be
entered into a drawing for the chance to win an iPod touch 16GB.
