- Michael Aubin, Vice President of Data Services Field Operations at Progress Software, will participate in a case study session entitled, “Using NGOSS and SOA to Support The Rollout of New Services Case Study: Rolling out Mobile Broadband Services at NMT,” on Tuesday, May 20, 2008 from 4:00 p.m. – 5:30 p.m. Aubin and Thomas Norberg, CIO, Nordisk Mobiltelefon AB, will present on how the NGOSS standards were used with SOA to enable and speed up the automation of key processes in ordering and logistics for NMT's mobile services offerings. Key business issues, major technical challenges and results will also be highlighted.
- Progress Software Corporation will release the latest version of the Progress® DataXtend® SID Model Browser, Version 8.3.1, based on the award-winning Progress® DataXtend® Semantic Integrator. The release of the browser includes the new Shared Information/Data (SID) model, Phase VIII. With the DataXtend SID Model Browser users can navigate through any of the eight distinct domains of the SID, inspecting the hierarchy within a specific domain, and the details of the classes and attributes contained within the hierarchy. The new version of the browser, which contains the SID preloaded as the common model, also helps users to identify the differences between the previous version and Phase VIII.
In addition, copies of the book, “Application Integration Using the SID,” by TM Forum's Senior Technical Program Manager John Reilly and Progress Software's Chief Technical Architect, Communications Sector, John Wilmes, will be distributed free to conference attendees at Booth 83. “Application Integration Using the SID” provides detailed, step-by-step guidance on scoping, analyzing and designing OSS/BSS integration projects that leverage NGOSS (New Generation Operations Systems and Software) frameworks and integration tools for data interoperability. Each book includes a copy of the DataXtend SID Model Browser.
