.NET community through support and advancement of Microsoft technologies
and open source projects
BEDFORD, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 4, 2018--
Progress
(NASDAQ: PRGS), the leading provider of application development and
digital experience technologies, today announced the expansion of its
participation in the .NET Foundation, becoming one of its first
corporate sponsors. The company also announced advancements within the
well-known Telerik portfolio of .NET development tools with immediate

evolution of the .NET Foundation to an open membership model.
“Through our long-standing relationship with Microsoft we’ve been able
to collaborate with them on several projects that will be beneficial to
the .NET community,” said Faris Sweis, SVP & General Manager Developer
Tooling Business, Progress. “Not only are we maintaining our day-zero
support of Microsoft .NET solutions, but we’re taking on a stronger role
within the .NET Foundation that will enable us to act in an advisory
capacity for the advancement of this open source ecosystem.”
.NET Foundation Corporate Sponsorship
The .NET Foundation
was created to foster collaboration between commercial and community
developers for the advancement of open source technologies for .NET.
Progress has been an ongoing contributor in the project and in 2017
donated the Telerik UI for UWP platform, which consisted of 20+ UI for
Universal Windows Platform controls.
With today’s news, Progress is expanding its role by signing on as one
of the first corporate sponsors under the newly established open
membership model. In this capacity, Progress will act as an advisor to
the newly established Board of Directors and will continue to take an
active role as a business contributor.
“Progress Telerik has been a leading vendor in the .NET development
community, and they are an important contributor during an exciting time
in the evolution of .NET,” said Jon Galloway, Executive Director, .NET
Foundation. “Today’s news demonstrates Progress’ long-term commitment to
the future of .NET development and the growth of the .NET open source
community.”

continues this tradition by announcing immediate support for Visual
Studio 2019 Preview and .NET Core 3.0 Preview and the commitment to
provide zero-day support for the full release of both products.
