BEDFORD, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 11, 2008--Progress Software Corporation (NASDAQ: PRGS), a provider of leading application infrastructure software to develop, deploy, integrate and manage business applications, today announced that it has been recognized as a best place to work by the "Globe 100: Top Places to Work" award. The Boston Globe's "Globe 100: Top Places to Work" lists the 100 most dynamic, supportive and inclusive companies in Massachusetts.

The rankings are based on survey information collected by Workplace Dynamics, an independent company specializing in employee engagement and retention. This year 120,000 employees at 600 Massachusetts organizations participated in the survey and only 100 organizations were recognized. This marks the first time that a Globe 100 report honors private as well as publicly-held organizations.

Publisher of the Boston Globe Steve Ainsley stated, "All the companies included in the Globe 100's Top Places to Work deserve a great deal of recognition. It's clear that they value their employees and make it a priority to create a positive workplace."

Produced by the same team that compiles the 21-year-old Globe 100 report of the best-performing public companies in Massachusetts, the "Top Places to Work" recognizes the most progressive companies in the state based on employee opinions about company leadership, compensation and training, diversity/inclusion, career development, family-friendly flexibility, and values and ethics. Private companies and nonprofits as well as publicly-held businesses were included in the analysis.

"Our employees are the key to Progress Software's continued success over the past 26 years. We strive to offer our employees an opportunity for professional growth, as well as competitive compensation and benefits packages including employee stock purchase plans, 401(k) matching programs, tuition reimbursement and competitive vacation and holiday policies," said Joseph Andrews, vice president, Human Resources, Progress Software. "Because the 'Globe 100: Top Places to Work' list is based primarily upon employee survey responses it is clear our efforts to make Progress Software a desirable work place have been successful."
